COVID-19 Restrictions for Durham Residents

Important Update: As of November 23rd, 2020, Durham Region has moved to the Red Lockdown Level (Control). Conditions are the most severe in this zone!  

Precautionary Measures that need to be followed: 

1.Organized Public Events and Social Gatherings: Avoiding public gatherings with families and extended family! Well this is the only time you can deny visitors from entering your house!

2. Sports and Recreational Fitness: This one's particularly for the youth! There is only a maximum of 10 people indoors in gyms and a maximum of 25 people outdoors like in soccer or football fields! Note: Team sports must be modified to avoid physical contact.

3. Meeting Places: For clubs and classroom centers there are a maximum of 10 people that can be seated inside.

4. Restaurants and Bars: A maximum of 4 people per table and 10 people seated within the restaurant. Patios permitted with some restrictions. The best time to enjoy the beautiful weather and the company of close friends!

5. Entertainment Facilities- Good news! Drive-in Cinemas and performing arts facilities are open. Note: a 2 meters distance from fellow actors is needed.  

Previous or Future Measures of the Durham Region- 

Introductory stage where residents are told about the virus and are being cautioned. View Standardized Measures

Including the rules and regulations set from the previous stage, but more emphasis on awareness and fines if the standardized measures are not followed 

Enhanced enforcement and stricter rules from the above stages. However it's not heading towards lockdown in this stage!

Held for a minimum of 28 days and consists of closures of non-essential businesses and includes wide-scale restrictions
